Share The Love
The best way to encourage one another is by sharing stories of faith and hope as we walk through troubles together. We aim to share some of those stories right here on this site, but we have also made it possible for you to share your God-stories with others in a special Facebook group that we have set up for this purpose. Follow this link, click +Join Group, answer three questions and we’ll add you to the group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/covid19globalprayer/
You can also update your Facebook profile picture with a WEA “I’m Praying” frame. To add it, go and “Update” your profile photo, choose “Add Frame” and search for “COVID19-Praying”. Click the frame, adjust your profile photo, choose your timeframe and click “Use as Profile Picture”. Voilà! Tell the world you’re praying in our time of trouble.
The Power of Intercession
Dick Eastman led the prayer session at the recent WEA General Assembly in Jakarta, Indonesia. His sharing gains renewed relevance on the importance of prayer in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the highlights video, he shared among others the quote below:
“History belongs to the intercessors—those who believe and pray the future into being.”
Theologian Walter Wink commenting on Revelation 8:1-5
Pray With Others
There are many other Christian leaders and organisations calling for days of prayer. We affirm all of these and commend them to you. Below are a list of sites providing prayer information related to COVID-19 that we currently know of. We will update this list as information comes to hand. Be encouraged to “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
